Officials say corn is slow to emerge this Spring

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - With April in the rearview mirror, corn seems to be emerging slower than usual. Field Specialist in Agronomy Wayne Flanary told KXCV/KRNW that although corn isn't emerging when it normally does, soon it will be back on track.

From the week of April 13, temperatures were so low that only five growing degrees units were calculated. Flanary adds that as temperatures increase, there will be a return to normal corn planting.
